Welcome to the Archbishop Riordan Crusader Band Website!
The Archbishop Riordan Crusader Band is committed to pride, purpose, and performance. We proudly represent our community, our city, and most of all our school everywhere we go throughout California and the United States. The Crusader Band competes in the NCBA circuit and started competing in 2004 under the direction of Mr. Scott Souza.

Archbishop Riordan Crusader Marching Band News 2011-2012:
Fall Season has officially begun!
On September 24th, the Archbishop Riordan Crusader Marching Band and Colorguard made their way up to Antioch High School for the 2011 Delta Band Review. The band started off the season right at Antioch scoring the highest Riordan band fall season debut score in the band's history of 88.2!!! The band came in second behind Armijo high school and the colorguard also placed second. Congratulations also to the drumline for posting their highest fall season score since first competiting in the fall on the street. We would also like to thank the 40+ parents and boosters who helped out all day at the competition! The band and guard came out strong with a great start to a hopefully great season!!!
Important Upcoming Dates:
On October 1st, the band will be competing at the Del Mar Band Review which will be held at Del Mar High School in San Jose! The following week will consist of a home football game on October 8th, the Columbus Day Parade on October 9th, and the Fleet Week Band Competition hosted by Fleet Week and a division of the US Marines. If you would like to chaperone or assist with events, please make sure to contact Mr. Souza via email at ssouza@riordanhs.org
Important Message from Mr. Souza:
Hello Everyone, our spring tour this year is a march down Mainstreet in Disneyland during Spring Break from April 11-14 and will include a tour of either California State University Fullerton, Long Beach State University or UC Irvine. The trip will cost approximately $450 per student quad occupancy and for any parents who would like to join us the cost will be per Double Occupancy and cost approximately $550. If you would like your son to participate in this wonderfully fun and musically gratifying experience please let me know by sending an email to my school email address at ssouza@riordanhs.org.
I would like to have participant numbers by the end of this week, September 30, so that we can set the cost. I will be collecting a $100 non refundable deposit starting October 1st hoping to have the deposits in place by October 15th to reserve our buses/hotels through our travel agent. Once I have a total head count the travel agent will provide me with a pay schedule for all participants to adhere to so that we can make our payments to the travel agent in a timely manner. Please remember that our upcoming fundraisers; See's, We Care Coffee and Wreaths (after two sold) may be used for the student to raise funds. Unfortunately these fundraisers cannot be used by parents to raise their funds.
I will be sending out information regarding our upcoming Boutique and all Fundraisers in the next week as the format for the Boutique has changed which will hopefully make the requirements easier for all Band families.
