Band Boosters
All Band Booster meetings will start at 6pm and have an ending goal of 7:30pm. All parents of Band students are considered Band Boosters and are highly encouraged to attend the meetings and get involved in your son's education.
The Band Booster organization assists the Band Directors with raising funds through participation in our annual Holiday Concert & Boutique, participating in setup/ticket collections, handing out programs at our concerts, helping to serve at our annual awards banquet and being available for other necessary duties to help the Bands be successful in performance. This includes all levels of students from beginning to intermediate to advanced, our drumline, colorguard, and jazz. It is only with parent help that we are able to focus on our performances without having to worry about the other details. Involvement in the Band Boosters is also a way for you to socialize with other parents and to get the required parent hours that each parent needs to volunteer each year. Each of the meetings below will give you one hour of volunteer time.
This year, we have been blessed with a group of very enthusiastic and fun-loving band booster parents who have been working hard all during the fall season to coordinate special events and help at competitions, concerts, and pre-concert set up. Above are some of our hardworking parents. Without them, we could not have lasted through the fall season. The band boosters discuss upcoming events and ideas at monthly band booster meetings and work hand-in-hand with Mr. Souza. A special thanks is in order for our BAND BOOSTER MAESTRO AND FEARLESS LEADER MR. MICHAEL DAY!!! and all the other band boosters who have supported our program and cared for all the band members this fall 2009 season!
Our band boosters this fall from October to November have been traveling with the band all over from city parades to Santa Cruz, Pleasanton, and Fairfield for band competitions! They have been the cornerstone of our success along with our staff! Without this dedicated group of fun-loving band boosters, our band would not have made it this far this season! Thank you all so much!
The band boosters coordinate many events such as the annual Christmas boutique and the Band Awards Banquet. During Christmas, the band boosters also work on making bows for the Christmas wreath and holiday baskets and working on See's Candy sales. Without band boosters, there surely would be no band. Any band booster can tell you that it is a great experience traveling with the boys and being an active part of their son's time in band.
We hope that you will find the time you spend with the Band Booster organization enjoyable and have you wanting to spend time with our Band, an awesome group of young men who work hard to represent our school and our city to everyone else! Please come and be an active participant and see what it is to be a proud member of the ARCHBISHOP RIORDAN BAND BOOSTERS.
